AR/VR Integrated Teaching Material
Hello everyone!! Today I want to talk about our AR/VR integrated teaching material that my classmates (İrem Zehra, Lisa, Şevin) and I created. First, in our activity, we take 360° virtual tours of three locations in Prague. Two of them are the “Prague Astronomical Clock” and the “Charles Bridge.” The other is the ‘’New Building of the National Museum’’. First, we explain how students access the sites. We have them scan QR codes from the images, and we also put links on the images so they can click on them to access the link. We ask four general, basic, and historical questions about the first two locations, the Astronomical Clock and the Charles Bridge. Then, we ask four questions about their thoughts, personal opinions, and feelings while touring the museum. We introduce famous Prague food and drinks. Finally, we give them a role-playing activity to do in pairs so they can talk about the city together. We have them write short sentences about the city. We conclude our material.
Now let me share some of my own thoughts. Actually, I didn't find the task too difficult; I think it was easier than the other assignments. Preparing the flipped teaching video was the most challenging part. The 360° videos available online made our job much easier. All that was left was editing, integrating them into the material, and adapting them to the students' needs and learning style. I believe that AR/VR integration into ELT is definitely a learning-enhancing approach. Students live surrounded by technology, and since we can't remove technology from our lives, we have to incorporate it into English learning as well. This way, English learning will move beyond traditional methods. Especially integrating these newly developing technologies into the lesson will both introduce students to new technologies and contribute to their English acquisition.

In our second/final draft, based on feedback, we prioritized short and clear instructions on how to conduct a virtual tour, replacing the lengthy initial guidelines on the first page. We added questions to the sections to avoid abruptly jumping into the topic. We replaced "Czech Republic" with "Prague." Short descriptions were added to our sections (Let’s Explore the Museum!, Let’s Eat, Don’t Forget to Visit!) so students could quickly learn about the information. In the "Don’t Forget to Visit" section, the questions were revised for two landmarks (two factual and two personal). All headings were made in the same font, and the questions were labeled A and B to avoid confusion. Headings were added for each section. In the "Let’s Eat" section, the lengthy descriptions were removed and replaced with questions and brief information. Beer was removed and street food was added. Finally, we revised our assurance plan to reflect the changes made to the activity.
