Flipped Teaching Video
Hello everyone again!!
I don't know if you missed me, but even though it wasn't long ago, I missed you! Today, I want to share another group project with you. This time, we prepared a flipped teaching video. We haven't finished it completely, but I'll share the final version with you as soon as possible. First, let me briefly explain the flipped classroom approach. It allows students to learn the material before class by watching videos, presentations, or short explanations. This method makes class time more productive. Students have more opportunities to participate in activities, practice, and ask questions. However, not every student coming to class prepared can be a disadvantage. In the video we prepared for this lesson, we explained the Future Tense with everyday examples and added a short quiz to help students reinforce their understanding.
Our sections are:
1. When to use future tense + Future Expressions (İrem Zehra)
2. Will (Şevin)
3. Going To (Hilal, that is, me)
4. Summary + Comparison (Lisa)
The task is based on watching the video and producing students' own future-oriented sentences in class. My groupmates, İrem Zehra, Lisa, and Şevin, and I discussed the challenges, and I'd like to share them with you. First of all, while creating the video, adding text, animation, and adjusting the timer was a bit difficult. Ultimately, we spent some time and still managed to do it this way. İrem Zehra, for example, mentioned that quiz apps with so many premium features aren't student-friendly, such as ''Wayground'' and ''Kahoot'', because they give a timed quiz, but we wanted it to be untimed. Consequently, we ended up using Google Forms. The tools we used are: "Canva" for creating and editing the video. "Google Forms" for preparing the quiz.
Both tools were quite useful. Editing and creating were more convenient than others. Canva had a wide range of options.
First, I'll provide you with the video link, followed by the quiz link: (First Draft)

Once we've completed our Lesson Plan, we'll add it to our blog. Stay tuned. :)
***We updated our flipped video this week based on feedback from our classmates and made some additions. We added sound effects: chalk, erasing sound, school bell ringing. We balanced the sounds. The quiz was missing question numbers. Thus, we added them. The comparison and summary sections were missing; we added them and added a practice section. We added a table in the comparison section. We also completed the Assure Lesson Plan. Finally, we uploaded the video we created in Canva to YouTube.
Here are our updated links and latest materials.
